What we will not do

We will not send a condolence sequence. We will not ask you to tell us what happened. We will not offer a discount, a survey, or a “when you’re ready” campaign. We will not surface the diary in marketing, and we will not use a loss report as a reason to contact you about anything else.

A pause is not a conversation. It is a stop.

Report a loss lives in the iOS app and stays on screen during the pregnancy phase. One tap pauses prompts and reminders. The collection stays where it is. Resume is only by explicit action in settings, never automatic. We will not send a condolence sequence, ask what happened, or contact you about anything else because of a loss report.

How pause differs from deletion

Pause stops prompts and reminders. The recordings already in the collection stay exactly where they are. You can come back later, or never. Nothing is deleted on pause. Nothing is exported on pause. Other people you invited to record are also paused on that collection so a prompt does not arrive in someone else’s phone after you have asked the product to stop.

Deletion is optional and immediate. If you choose it, the collection is removed from our systems on the same request. There is no cooling-off period and no confirmation email beyond the in-app acknowledgment. Deletion cannot be undone by us. If you later want a diary again, you start a new collection.

We do not convert a pause into a deletion on a timer. The only person who can delete is you, in the app.

What pause does not stop

Billing is a separate thing, and Apple controls it: we cannot stop, pause, or refund an auto-renewing subscription on your behalf. If you want the charges to stop, you cancel in your Apple settings, and the app shows you how at the moment you report. An uncancelled trial still converts.

This is the one thing a pause cannot do for you, and we would rather say so here than have you find out on a renewal.

What happens to other contributors

A loss report applies to the collection, not only to your login. Partner, grandparent, and other invited recorders stop receiving prompts for that child. They are not told why. They see that recording is paused. If you later resume the same collection, their invitations remain unless you remove them. If you start fresh, they are not carried over.

If a contributor recorded entries before the pause, those entries stay in the collection under the same rules as yours: held, and never opened to the child unless you choose that later. You can still request an export.
