What is TellSophie?

A daily prompt and a short recording — a minute is enough, up to five if you have more to say — your child receives when they’re old enough. You record video or audio. We save it. Years from now, they get the whole collection, in their own time, in your own voices.

Who is it for?

Expecting parents in the second or third trimester, new parents in the first six months, and parents who feel they haven’t captured one child as much as another. The whole family can contribute: partner, grandparents, godparents, and chosen family.

How does it work?

You get a daily prompt at a time you choose. You record one to five minutes of video or audio — a minute is enough on most days, five if you have more to say. The recording goes into your child’s growing collection. The collection grows for years, and the child receives joint access at age 13 and full access at age 18.

What does my child actually get, and when?

Between ages 13 and 17 the child becomes a joint admin with you. At 18 they become the full admin. They can also receive the collection earlier if you choose. What they get is video and audio messages from you and the people who raised them, in original format, with transcripts.

What if I miss a day?

Most people will. There’s no streak counter, no penalty, no guilt push. Tomorrow’s prompt arrives at the time you chose, the same as it would have. The product is designed for parents who have a baby and a job and a life; it’s calibrated for the hard weeks, not the easy ones.

How much does it cost?

Family is $99 per year and covers up to two children and five contributors. Village is $199 per year and covers up to five children with unlimited contributors. Both have a 14-day free trial.

What happens if I have a pregnancy loss?

One tap pauses everything. Billing pauses. Prompts stop. The collection stays exactly where it is, for as long as you want it to. There are no follow-up emails, no nudges. If and when you decide to come back, the controls are in settings.

What about my privacy?

We never sell or share your data. We never use your recordings to train AI. Storage is encrypted, United States-based. AI inference is locked to the United States.

What if TellSophie goes away?

Every active user gets a final export download link to user-owned cloud storage with a 90-day window. We hold a continuity reserve specifically to fund this. The export format is open and published; any future tool can read it.

Can I get my recordings out anytime?

Yes. There’s an export button in the app, on every tier, including the trial. You get a ZIP of your recordings in standard formats with full metadata.
