California Notice

Effective date: May 11, 2026

Last updated: May 11, 2026

This notice supplements our Privacy Policy. It explains the rights of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and how to exercise them.

Notice at collection

When you submit the signup form on tellsophie.com, we collect the following categories of personal information:

We collect this information to operate our pre-launch signup list, to send you the launch-day email, to comply with law, and to respond to your requests.

The retention periods for each category are described in our Privacy Policy under "How long we keep what we collect."

Sale and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not engage in any of the activities the law defines as "sale" or "sharing" under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing, even though we do not engage in either.

Your rights as a California resident

You have the right to:

  1. Know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, or shared.
  2. Get a copy of the personal information we have collected from you, in a portable format.
  3. Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  4. Delete the personal information we have collected from you.
  5. Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share, but you may exercise the right anyway and we will confirm that we are not.
  6. Limit our use of sensitive personal information. This applies to your optional pregnancy stage. We already limit our use of this information to the purposes described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
  7. Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your rights.

How to exercise your rights

Email privacy@tellsophie.com with your request, or use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the website footer.

You can also exercise the right to opt out of analytics directly in the cookie banner or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.

We will respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days. We may extend that response time by another 45 days when reasonably necessary, and we will tell you if we do.

Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written, signed authorization from you. We may require you to verify your identity directly to confirm the request.

How we verify your identity

We will usually verify your identity by sending a confirmation request to the email address you signed up with. For requests that involve sensitive information or large-scale changes, we may ask for additional verification. We do not collect more information for verification than is necessary.

Children's data

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn we have, we will delete it and take reasonable steps to notify a parent or guardian.

Metrics

The California Consumer Privacy Act requires businesses meeting certain thresholds to publish annual metrics on the volume of consumer requests received. We do not currently meet those thresholds. If we do in the future, the metrics will appear on this page.

Notice of financial incentive

We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information. There is no loyalty program, no discount in exchange for data, no cash for sign-up. The signup list is free to join and you receive a single launch-day email regardless of any other action.
